Lynda Watkins of Full Circle Designs Welcome a little glimpse into our personality!

Some "key" events led to the start of Full Circle Designs. One was the "abandonment" of my daughter Jennifer. She got married, and is living happily ever after!

I immediately began exhibiting symptoms related to the "infamous empty nest syndrome!" After all the wedding "hoopla," I focused on completing my degree in psychology. Having absolutely no career direction upon graduation (a total lost puppy!), I found myself volunteering some of my time at a needlework retail shop owned by a long time friend and "stitch buddy." She needed someone to travel with her to a needlework market. I heartily agreed to go. The cross stitch market was a wonderful experience and was the beginning of a future that I certainly never planned. A distributor, to whom I am forever grateful, saw my first attempt at designing and provided the encouragement I needed to seriously consider publishing. With the added support and commitment from my husband, Gordon, I was on my way!

My appreciation for stitching came from my grandmothers. Both were needleworkers... creating beautiful crocheted doilies, knitted booties, embroidered pillowcases and the like. As a child, I loved to watch them stitch and it made a powerful impression on me. My father also greatly influenced me with his gift of creativity. He helped to inspire an attention to detail along with a deep appreciation for the beauty in nature reflected in Full Circle Designs.

Like a lot of people -- well, at least we older folks! -- I can look back and see that my life has come "full circle." Hence, the name Full Circle Designs! Many comparisons can be made between the design process and life processes. We all start with a clean slate, like the ground fabric. Along the way, we make choices -- like what thread colors, types and textures to use, needle sizes, special stitches, embellishments etc., and we apply them to create the general direction, flow and spirit developed in our designs….as in our lives. With the fruits of our creativity and our life choices, we are transformed, like the finished piece of needlework. At Full Circle Designs, we hope to capture that special spirit creating enthusiasm and joy for the needle arts.

I'm so glad you stopped to take a look at the web site. I hope our cross stitch designs will touch a special place within you!
