Our Creature Comforts Series includes The Rabbit, The Squirrel, The Bee and The Dragonfly (pretty catchy titles..... huh?) and stitched on 28 ct. Lugana (Summer Khaki). Assisi work is used to create the "fuzzy animals" (Rabbit and Squirrel) and the "flying animals" (Bee and Dragonfly) that are slipped into the corners of each design in the series.
The colors are softly muted earth tones using Caron Collection Wildflowers and/or Waterlillies along with coordinating DMC cotton flosses. Mill Hill beads and Treasures are used to embellish all four designs in the series. I kept the special stitches to a minimum with these (just in the borders) for stitchers who do lots of cross stitch and are ready to expand their horizons just a bit with a special stitch or two. |

Prancing rabbits reside in each corner while the center squares feature the things so often thought of when we see these furry guys. Baskets of hearts and bouquets of spring flowers fill the center squares. The border contains a floral satin stitch pattern surrounding tiny "floating weedies" that delicately frame the design.
