Whispering Windmills brings to mind soft summer breezes and lazy summer days spent lying in grassy fields gazing up at big, puffy clouds slowly floating by. A weathered windmill is flanked by summer sunflowers and sits atop rows of tiny flying kites, swirly flowers, butterflies, delicate wind chimes and spinning suns. At the bottom of the sampler is a miniature version of the windmill surrounded by sunflowers and soft billowing clouds arched overhead.

We used very soft golds, mossy greens, ginger and hazelnut browns, pinky corals, cream and tiny bits of soft blues here and there. We used a hint of metallic thread and some beautiful variegated silk thread…just the right finishing touches.
